R Workshops
MI-Support is a program offered by the Michigan Public Health Integrated Center for Outbreak Analytics and Modeling (MICOM) to enhance support and capacity building for local health departments across Michigan, with a focus on modeling and analytics needs. As part of this initiative, the team launched R code-based workshops for local health departments in June 2023. These interactive, hands-on workshops expand skill sets and strengthen the ability of health departments to serve their communities.

Hands-on Workshop: Using R for Epidemiologic Analysis
In this interactive workshop, we will present a short overview of the uses of R and describe how R can be used to streamline and standardize epidemiological and public health analyses. This will be followed by an interactive workshop on using R for common data visualizations and reports using common MDSS data formats. This will include lesson segments on ggplot charts, gt tables, and reproducible reports.
